Disneyland.com 2.0
I joined Disney Online after working for an agency creating interactive experiences for the music industry. The job gave the knowledge and tools to understand non-linear storytelling and create interfaces for people to navigate thru that experience. The term was non even born yet but in today’s day it will be called UX designer.
Disneyland was in the process of expanding his one park into a resort experience, two more hotels, a shopping center and another theme park was opening, and they needed to move from the brochure like website to something much more interactive and introduce online booking for hotels and purchasing park tickets.
With my knowledge of multimedia and interactivity and using a just born new technology, Flash, we brought the experience to live, with interactive maps, videos, music and plenty of full screen imagery pushing the boundaries of what now has become web standards.
After the launch of the site, I was able to work in other Disney properties using the same design parameters.
